On Saturday 21st September, Bleasby saw its first dog show come to the Glebe Field. The event, organised by Bleasby School Friends Association, was arranged for 3 reasons – to raise much needed funds for Bleasby School, to bring the community (and surrounding villages) together in a fun event and for local dog owners to use the Glebe Field with their prize pets promoting responsible dog ownership.

The day was a huge success and far exceeded our expectations. The weather was incredible and the Sun God was definitely on our side. We had over 120 entries during the day with people travelling from far and wide to attend. We raised £850 for Bleasby School which is a fantastic amount so thank you to everyone who supported us.

Thanks go to our fantastic sponsors and Judges along with Gadsbys of Southwell for providing the bread rolls for the BBQ, Royal Canin for the Best in Show class prizes, Flogas for the BBQ gas, everyone who came to help set up and clear away and their help during the day, The Parish Council for letting us use the field and The Village Hall for the loan of the tables and chairs.

Photos from the day can now be viewed on the community website Memory Lane section - click here

It really was a team and community event and it was lovely to see so many people enjoying the day
