For many years, the teams running St Mary's Church and the Bleasby Village Hall have held a joint fundraising event, Bleasby Open Gardens. This event was scheduled to take place in 2021, but with the Covid 19 restrictions, the event could not take place.

Both organisations have lost revenue as a result of the lockdown and social distancing restrictions as there has been little or no income from services, weddings, funerals and baptisms in the church, and the Bleasby Village Hall has had almost no letting income. The overheads for both buildings have nevertheless continued. The combined loss of revenue by the two organisations for the last year is c £8,000.

To try to raise some funds to cover these losses of income, we have put together a social distanced programme of activities and events that we hope will bring back some colour and smiles to our village across the next few months. For further details, please visit the Bleasby Communities website – Bleasby in Bloom 2021 (click here)

To get started, we invite you join in by preparing and placing a tub, planter, or hanging basket of spring flowers outside your property, to grow some extra seeds and cuttings that you can donate to the plant stall. Please also look through the old jigsaws that you have completed and donate them to the Jigsaw Exchange.

To show appreciation for these activities, please contribute to our Crowdfunding page on JustGiving (click here)
