Bleasby resident Janene Scurfield and her colleagues are embarking upon an extremely physically demanding challenge this year to help raise money for Children In Need - The Mont Blanc Trek, taking place 4th – 8th September 2019
Those who know Janene will understand how this is far outside of her comfort zone as she has never embarked upon anything like it before.
The four day trek covers over 45 km through Italy, France and Switzerland and will be a brutal test Janene’s stamina, on foot 7 hours each day navigating steep vertical cliffs, crevassed glaciers, waterfalls and forested tracks.
Why are they doing this? Janene is passionate about Children in Need and the thousands of projects the charity supports throughout the UK, helping disadvantaged children and young people to have a better life. Children in Need do a fantastic job funding and supporting other charities and organisations throughout the UK and have active projects locally in the Nottinghamshire area.
The charity and the projects they support will fully benefit from the teams sponsorship. Anyone kind enough to make a donation, no matter how small, would help Janene and her team reach their £15,000 target and be most appreciated.
Donations can be made, along with further informantion, via the JustGiving page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/badmothertrekkers?utm_source=Whatsapp
In further support for Children In Need, The Waggon will be raising money as part of their Sunday evening quiz night on 10th November. Entry will be £2 instead of the usual £1 and Pudsey will be there on the night to greet people as they arrive from 7.30.
