Bleasby Community Website
For first time visitors to Bleasby, the Visit Bleasby section provides some local history alongside an introduction to local attractions such as Bleasby War Memorials, St Mary's Church, Glebe Field and Hazelford Ferry & the River Trent. You can also find ideas for outdoor recreation and information about travel and where to get fed and watered.
There is a section about the village amenities which covers Bleasby Primary School, Playgroup, Village Hall and Jubilee Ponds, together with other useful information about the local defibrillator, public transport and useful links to local services.
The many local interest groups each have a page dedicated to their activities in the village. These include Bleasby Bikers, a local History Society, Camemberts Running Club, a Book Group, Whist Club and a Lunch Club. There is also a Wellbeing Circle, Swing Into Shape group and Wednesday Club, not to mention a thriving WI and an active Countryside and Footpaths Group.
Residents of Bleasby, Goverton and Gibsmere have plenty of opportunities to get involved with helping the community by getting involved with volunteering. Please visit the Volunteering Groups pages where you can find out more about some of the local activities such as Neighbourhood Watch, Flood Action Group, Communications & Events Groups and the recently formed Traffic Management Group.
There is a page covering specific Volunteering Vacancies but each group welcomes newcomers that are interested in volunteering.
Bleasby enjoys the services and support of a very pro-active parish council which helps ensure the needs of the village parishioner are met and actively supported. The Parish Council section of the website provides the latest on the Bleasby Parish Plan, Parish Meetings, Statutory Documents and other relevant information.
